"Doesn't live up to expectations"

Like most people, I love Madness. It's one of the flash that got me into newgrounds, and flash in general. So it saddens me to see that this entry doesn't live up to expectations.

Don't get me wrong, there's still a lot going for 9. It's nice to see the introduction of two new characters (even if one is murdered in his first appearance), who bring their own style to the series. The hook is a creative and bizzare new weapon, used quite creatively. Also, funny as hell to see Hank's corpse be used as a shield and weapon. Music is a step up from 8, but doesn't match the best I've heard from the series.

But the entry quickly falls into the same routine. Yeah, it's what made madness what it is today, but it's starting to show its age. At least Madness 8 had Jebus and his creepy set of powers to add something new. Other than a car chase and a hook, it territory well traveled.

And then theres the claw. On one hand, it keeps with the tradition of batshit lunancy. On the other, it seems WAY overdone, even for Madness.

Depsite what I've spewed out here, I still really enjoyed 9, and still have high hopes for 10. It's not Madness at its best, but its still the Madness everyone loves. Keep at it Krinkels.

"Uninspired"

"Oh, another round of mindless stick murder, surely this is a godsend" said I with a look a grim aloofness. Gah, why stick murder? Hasen't that decomposing horse corpse been beaten enough already?

Besides the fact the stick murder is going the way of the dinosaur, I find it inheirantly stupid to to release the same flash under the gusie of "it's a little longer now" in place of, I don't know, making NEW content perhaps? The standard "I luv bl00d" newgrounder may not care, but to me it's a sign of lack of creativity.

If you really like stick murder, and the original Arena4, then you'll no doubt do backflips of excessive joy over this entry. As for me, I'll just watch from the sidelines sal sign.haking my head and inching slowly away to safety. If you want to improve, then come up with some new content.

"Insane in a good way"

Seeing something as morbidly dark as Watchmen being turned into what could only be described as the reincarnated spirit of every saturday morning cartoon from the 80's may not sound like the most sane move. But as it turns out, HappyHarry is krazy like the fox.

Seeing some of the darkest characters in comic book history prance around to their own theme music is perhaps some of the best parody I've seen in years. Combine it with incredible animation and voice acting and you have a nerdgasm just waiting to explode.

We need more flash like this, pure and simple. Also, thank for covering Dr. Manhattan's glowing blue junk.

"Transendant"

Its one thing to remake video game music. But its genius when the melody you create sounds just as good (if not better) than the actual soundtrack from the game. You have achieved just that my friend. I've never heard a tune from any game that has be remade so well, and so beautifully.
